Why do we celebrate the 4th of July?
From 1775 to the present, July 4 has been celebrated as the birth of American independence and since 1941 it is considered a Federal Holiday. It all began with a conflict that pitted the original Thirteen British Colonies in North America against the Kingdom of Great Britain. It occurred between 1775 and 1783, ending with the British defeat at the Battle of Yorktown and the signing of the Treaty of Paris. (frogbones.com)
The United States has several holidays throughout the year, but the most important of them is July 4, the date that celebrates the anniversary of its independence, so all citizens take the opportunity to celebrate in a BIG WAY!
